Role of the Faculty Senate

The Clarendon College Faculty Senate is an advisory body that represents the faculty's voice in academic and institutional governance. It investigates, debates, and communicates matters in the college’s best interest, reviews academic policies (including instruction and continuing education), and serves as a forum for faculty concerns.
Composition: 16 full-time faculty members
  • 4 officers: appointed at will by the College President and approved annually by the Board of Regents (per Texas SB-37)
  • 12 divisional representatives: elected by peers from the two academic divisions and one career technical division (4 per division)
The Senate considers any written faculty recommendations and addresses broad academic and policy issues. All faculty are encouraged to contact their divisional representatives with questions or concerns about college policies or procedures.
